August 28, 2010 – VBS Plans Updates

The Iloilo Bloggers met up last Sunday, August 28th at Book Latte to discuss further the plans for the Visayas Blogging Summit which will happen on November 27-28, 2010.

Agenda were as follows:

  • Souvenir items (Dagoy dolls) will only be given to the speakers. Mawe said that if we want to order now we should ask permission from the Dinagyang organizers.
  • It was decided that Efren will open a bank account for the org under his name at BPI.
  • Follow up Pepsi/Coke for sponsorhip.
  • Follow up with Vinz about Mang Inasal sponsorship.
  • I will call CAP to cancel.
  • List down the names of the confirmed speakers. Ask contact details from Eric so that we can directly contact them and send them a formal invitation letter. It was also decided that we will look for alternative speakers just in case the current speakers won’t be available for VBS.
  • It was decided that we will only provide 1 meal for the attendees of the VBS as we don’t have monetary sponsors right now, all have been ex-deals.
  • Ask Bernie if exactly what help will Rep. Treñas and Sen. Drilon extend to us.
  • We might also organize a fund-raising for VBS.

SPONSORS

  • Contact more sponsors.
  • Contact/Send letters to TicketsToGo and see if they can sponsor the tickets of our speakers.
  • Follow up The Venue (ask Marc).

ADDITIONAL TOPICS

  • We have also discussed about possible events we will organize after VBS like blog camps, cosplays as well as our adventure/bonding trips.
  • I will be making a list of all the sponsors Eric, Bernie, Junelle, Marcos and the other members have mentioned on our FB message thread so that we can determine who the confirmed sponsors are.

Here’s the list of attendees and their blogs:

  1. Junelle Caravana
  2. Mawe Barrios
  3. Junn Mendoza
  4. Mary Jane Cabrera
