Visayas Blogging Summit

- Design – Mia would be changing the theme of the website (hopefully) this week.
- Registration Info: Name, Blog, Email, Contact # and checklist 1] Attending VBS D1, 2] Attending PBA and 3] Attending VBS D2 (Php 150 to 200 fee – TO BE DISCUSSED)

- Kate from GMA (Efren’s friend) is willing to host
- Sponsors
- So far, all of our sponsors are ex-deal. – How could we get money?
- YEHEY willing to sponsor, provided they would be our solo online media partner. – Would they allow if someone is willing to sponsor and do live-stream of the event, since it is not one of their services anyway?
- Ice Breaker
- Raffles, etc
- Dagoy
- Dolls – How much would the doll cost from Tourism Office, and how much for the labor and materials of the one to dress up the doll?
- Necklace – Though the price is obviously cheaper than the regular, we can’t afford this because as of now, we have no money on hand.
- We already have endorsement from Iloilo City Mayor Jed Mabilog and District of Iloilo Congressman Jerry Treñas, this would be enough and focus more on getting financial help from sponsors.
- Venue
- SM Cinema 8 – we will have a meeting with SM officials to finalize things
- SM is currently negotiating with PhilCom to provide us with Wi-Fi during the event
- Would SM be willing to provide us with Green Bags to put souvenir items during the event (ANY REACTION TO THIS?)
- Where could we rent a hi-def projector
- SM Cinema 8 – we will have a meeting with SM officials to finalize things

- RED CROSS – Dengue strikes again, and blood supply in our province is just not enough for everyone affected with it, RED CROSS needs everyone’s help. Let us be angels and help save lives by DONATING BLOOD!

A Review of 2009
It was May 9, 2009 when I met a member of Iloilo Bloggers situated in Luzon, Bernie. He was the one who has a lot of plans for the IB community and he was the one who encouraged me to have a group meeting.
July 4, 2009 Digital Filipino event at PAGCOR Bacolod. This was the first event that a few of Iloilo Bloggers attended. A first meeting for those few of us.
July 31, 2009 SM Wi-Fi Launching. The event didn’t turn out the way we expected.
August 15, 2009 First official Iloilo Bloggers Meeting at Fort San Pedro.
September 5, 2009 Meeting at JD Roadhouse.
September 21, 2009 Meeting at Joey’s Pepperoni Pizzaria
September 28, 2009 SEO Workshop by Maam Janette Toral at Netopia SM City.
September 29, 2009 Meet and Greet with Luzon Bloggers at Green Mango
October 4, 2009 Food Bloggers event at SM City. This time, we had fun because we were face to face with delicious food. Bloggers love food 
October 18, 2009 Philippine Blog Awards Visayas. Proudly, one of our member got an award, which is the “Best Visayas Locale Blog” – CONGRATS MARCOS! Also during this event, Marcos and I received a sponsor awards – Globe Digital Tribe.

Officially SEC Registered
Good News everyone … Iloilo Bloggers is now officially registered! I just finished the process of registering it this morning.

Since most of the members are not available during this meeting and topic needs to be discussed ASAP, we just proceeded even though there were just 5 of us; namely JunnJun, Greg, Marcos and Me.
So what has been discussed?
- Media Pass
- The group created a draft letter to be given to Tourism officers.
Iloilo Bloggers
- Fund Raising
- Christmas Caroling seems too hard to be implemented since not everyone are active. Greg suggested we just focus on building the group for more people to be aware of us.
- Awareness Activity
- We approach event organizers to let us cover the event and acknowledge the group. (Example, during Tigkaralag festival, I called the tourism officer if Iloilo Bloggers could cover the event, and during the event they acknowledge us even if it was just me covering it. It was nice hearing Iloilo Bloggers is one of the media covering the event. – LATEST: Greg has informed me of a Fashion show, which I forwarded to those interested like Vince, who blogs about Fashion)
- We need to contact shops or any company owners to inform us if they have promos or sale so that those interested bloggers could blog about it. (Ex. The sale at Off-Price store, info could be seen at Explore Iloilo and Gigs Ilonggo as informed by the Manager – who is luckily one of of members, Efren)
- Membership fee
- This is one resort for us to have funds, at first during our previous meeting, we discussed Php 100 which will cover the ID, so we raised it to Php 200 [to be confirmed by the President] just enough for the group to have funds. (better to discuss on the next meeting)
- Next Meeting
- Saturday, November 14, 2009 – 6PM – venue needs to be discussed.

Help Ondoy Victims
Marcos will be going to Manila this coming October 3. Due to Bernie‘s request of helping the Ondoy victims, we decided to help out.
The plan was to gather clothing or any help we could by October 1 for Marcos to be able to bring it to Manila when he goes there.
